Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that the meeting between Georgian and Russian foreign ministers David Zalkaliani and Sergey Lavrov was welcomed and accepted by Georgia’s international partners.
"I hope that this meeting at the UN General Assembly headquarters will contribute to solving the most complex problems between Georgia and Russia,” Agenda.ge cited Gakharia as saying.
He noted that the international law and close cooperation with foreign partners are the only way to solve the problems between the countries, adding that pragmatic and peaceful policy is essential to address them.
Zalkaliani and Lavrov met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York yesterday. The meeting was mediated by Switzerland.
